Dear Doctor,
I hope you remember me. I’m Tom, an endoscopic assistant.
I’ve developed some new and unpleasant symptoms. To cut a long story short, I’m experiencing severe fatigue. It’s tough even to stand up. When I do, I have to grab hold of the chair or a nearby table. But after I’ve taken the first two steps, the weakness in my lower extremities goes away.
It’s a nightmare to get on a tram. I have to pull myself up holding the handles. Then I start getting palpitations. That makes me stop. People behind me can be quite nasty with their remarks.
Whenever I go to bed, I can hear my heartbeat really strongly, which stops me from falling asleep. My eyes seem to be bigger and they’re sore all the time. I use artificial tears at least five times a day.
I’m worried it might be some complication of my COVID jab. Please would you help me to get an appointment with you? I’ve asked my GP to make a referral. I hope he won’t object; he can be quite grumpy sometimes.
Best regards,
Tom
