Volume 6

Drinking alcohol or carrying open containers is prohibited on this bus

You may see small groups of young people on a train drinking wine or champagne from the same bottle and passing it around until it is empty.

It is also part of British culture that young people put on weird and unusual clothes like fancy dresses on a Saturday, and head back to someone’s place for partying. There are occasions when they are ready to travel from Manchester to Brighton to attend a soccer game. They have to pay a visit to the loo on the train. Being a bit tipsy, they tend to forget to lock the door meanwhile. Then others open it, laughing loudly and taking photos of them.

Some pubs in the centre of town are also popular places to meet on a Saturday night. Girls usually head out in inclement weather conditions without a coat, leaving their shoulders and arms uncovered.

Other individuals may find an occasion to chill out at a birthday do or a wedding. Women put on high-heeled shoes which make walking almost impossible, and cover themselves with tan spray. Men usually show off in close-fitting trousers and unbuttoned shirts. They are usually quite loud and the deeper the voice the better.

If you return home later in the night you may see them shuffling home – men with wobbly steps and women barefoot.

Charities hand out blankets and slippers to help these young girls get home.

I understand people need to amuse themselves, but this may be over the top, a bit exaggerated.
