Numbs sore throats
Unlike lozenges it works by spraying a powerful anaesthetic straight to the painful area. It gives you relief in seconds. Honey and lemon belong to grandma’s remedies.
Well I am not too confident about any of the above. I have the experience that some viral infections can cause tickling others serious pain in your throat. Swallowing usually aggravates pain.
You may take minor analgesics like Paracetamol or anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen but they only give temporary relief if at all.
Anyhow things get better in 2-3 days.
A lot of patients nudge their doctors to prescribe antibiotics and some of them are quite assertive to have them. They are not willing to understand that antibiotic therapy does not have a role in case of common colds as they only work for bacterial infections provided you have chosen the right one.
Prescribing antibiotics without proper judgment may lead to the development of multi-resistant and potentially fatal bacterial strains.
Weighed down ? Don’t struggle with your bags…pls. use the lifts instead !
It is forbidden to carry heavy suitcases on the escalator most of the time.
You can’t even step on them with a big luggage in hand as there are metallic bars provided. The reason for this is an increased risk of falls by all probability.
People try to lift their luggage all the same quite often as they are always in a hurry.
Caution has to be paid if you have a pet like a dog in your hand. They have to be carried as their paws may easily get hurt while stepping off the escalator. All the same some pet-owners train their dogs to jump off the escalator as it reaches its upper or lower end.
Skate at …
Whirl, glide, skate and slide
I used to skate a lot as a child and a teenager. There was a tennis court near to my home and as winters had been very cold at the time it was watered by hoses and water got frozen in no time.
We enjoyed skating a lot. I was not able to develop proper skating skills though as my joints were wobbly and was unable to have an ice-hockey skate only the one for artistic skating.
This was a place to meet friends and girls.
That was where some encounters ended up in a marriage especially at the time when my parents were young.
In the spring, summer and autumn we did a lot of roller skating and had some falls but never suffered serious injuries. Scooters were not without danger either.
Don’t pay more. Book in advance. Save 43%
If you book a train or flight ticket in advance you may save a lot of money.
Within London you may use your Oyster card or even your Credit Card.
There are few buslines where still paying in cash is possible.
If you use your Oyster card it is important not to forget touching in and out.
You can top up your card at automats on the train-station or some supermarkets. I prefer the latter one. I always keep a spare Oyster card topped up in my wallet as in case I don’t have one I may be asked to get off the bus in the morning rush hour. That is most annoying of course and also a bit humiliating. You have to be well organised today, I find life is too tough in comparison with circumstances in my younger years.
Changed your mind?
That’s fine. We’re here to exchange at this till or you can get refund at our refund department.
This is a great service. (Though you may not remove the price tag from the product. That proves that you haven’t worn the clothes anywhere outside your home).
I find it very convenient, as I am loath to go into those snug fitting cubicles and try on one pair of trousers after another. It is so exhausting. I have to be in a really good mood to do that. In some shops, assistants just have a look at you and hand over a piece of clothing that will fit you. These shops I return to. I may be short- tempered as I am big and it is always a problem to find anything that fits me.
Leave your hanger with us
This is a good idea, as it is much easier to carry pieces of clothing home without the hanger. It is also ideal from the point of view of recycling.
I always take plastic bottles to special places where there is selective collection of rubbish. I always have those pictures in my mind which show how animals in the sea gets trapped in plastic material. I want to avoid that by all means necessary. I don’t ask for a carrier bag at shops, if it is at all possible and try to have some from a previous shopping trip, on me.
To be environmentally-conscious is of the utmost importance, in my opinion.
