Put a lid on it

Hot drinks can hurt

Remember…

Always make sure the lid is on tight!

The fact that coffee is sold so very hot often puts me off buying it. Especially if I plan to board a train. It may become a real nuisance. People usually sip it through that tiny opening that is put on the lid.

Not only is it something that may burn your mouth but there is a real danger of hurting others too.

It is important to recall that coffee should be served at the temperature of 70ﹿC according to barista rules.

Most of the time I buy double espresso as that cools down in some minutes. Italian people ask for an espresso served in a big mug, and that makes drinking it even easier.

I don’t believe that coffee raises your blood- pressure or really boosts your mental acuity. It is rather a ceremony that most of us enjoy.

Thank you for helping us with our ambition to send zero waste to landfill I always have pangs of conscience producing so much rubbish daily. I have to make excursions to be able to bin my rubbish selectively, 2 or 3 times a week. There is also a lot of plastic I cannot recycle anyway. Then I imagine how it will float on the surface of the sea. When I use some wet wipes, I am well aware of the fact that those wipes cannot be recycled. I use them all the same, as I sweat a lot and then soot gets stuck to the skin on my head. However, I try to give it a thorough wash every morning.

I often forget to have some plastic bags on me when going to the local supermarket but try to avoid buying fruit or vegetables wrapped up in plastic.

Very playful, healthy, crate, pee and pad trained French Bulldog

She has her vaccine records and has been dewormed.

Eating puppy food already. She sleeps through the night by herself. Not a crier or a barker, will make a great addition to any family. Blast of energy; full of fun! Tail docked, dewclaws removed; he has had his 1st shots and 2 dewormers. Family raised and full of love!!

Never buy a puppy on a whim. A dog is not for Christmas; it is for at least 10 years or more.

It shouldn’t be that you saw a photo of a French bulldog in a magazine and you feel like having one. Bringing up a puppy, house-training her and going for regular walks, requires much energy. Most people are at work and leave the puppy at home on its own. They may then bark and whine, and your neighbours will complain.

Puppies may be stressed and suffer. Certain breeds may have different susceptibility to separation anxiety.

People choose a breed by its looks. Dogs have personalities, and that has to click with yours. Costs are also considerable if you have a dog at home. Have you thought of where to leave her when you go on holiday?

Our fishmongers are trained to prepare fresh fish just how you like it.

Just ask at the counter!

When I worked in Sidcup at Queen Mary’s Hospital, on the way home, I always popped in to the local supermarket to buy some fresh fish. Fishmongers were really kind and professional,l and the taste of fresh fish can’t be compared to those you buy sealed from the fridge.

They are put on ice,ce and I would say they should be eaten the same day.

I never fry them. Instead, I put them on a baking tray, spray them with olive oil, sprinkle on some sea salt, and put them into the oven for about 15 minutes. It is also an option to bake salmon for a shorter time and eat them like the French – raw inside.

Take a slice. Use your forefinger to fold in half.

Turn towards your mouth and eat.

Pizza is a beloved food in the Western world. Like a lot of other sorts of Italian food, it has become a weekend treat for a lot of, mainly young people. The proper recipe of the pastry is very much debated. The type of oven is also very important.

You would never guess that it is looked down on among some middle and upper class Italian people.

I once stayed in Rome partaking in a medical congress and was invited to a working dinner. The buying of endoscopes and accessories was discussed, and I was representing the University Clinic at that time. It was not easy to eat and drink and keep your mind clear. Before I went, I had been warned not to order pizza as it was not considered a ‘smart’ option.

Thank You for Helping Us Reach Our Goal of Sending Zero Waste to Landfill

I always feel pangs of conscience for producing so much rubbish every day. I have to make special trips two or three times a week just to dispose of my separated waste.

There’s also a lot of plastic that can’t be recycled at all. Sometimes, I imagine it floating on the surface of the sea.

When I use wet wipes, I’m aware they’re not recyclable. Still, I use them because I sweat a lot and dust tends to stick to my scalp. However, I make sure to give my head a thorough wash every morning.

I often forget to bring reusable bags to the supermarket, but I do try to avoid buying fruit or vegetables wrapped in plastic.

Owning a dog also comes with high costs. Have you thought about what you’ll do with the dog when you go on holiday, or if it becomes very sick?

Our Fishmongers Are Trained to Prepare Fresh Fish Just the Way You Like It

When I work in Sidcup at Queen Mary’s Hospital, I often stop by the local supermarket on my way home to buy fresh fish. The fishmongers there are kind and professional, and the taste of fresh fish simply can’t be compared to the pre-packaged kind from the supermarket fridge.

The fish are kept on ice and, in my opinion, should be eaten the same day.

It’s also possible to bake salmon for a shorter time and enjoy it the French way—slightly raw inside.

Pizza is a beloved food in the Western world. Like many types of Italian cuisine, it’s become a weekend treat—especially for young people.

The perfect recipe for pizza dough is widely debated, as is the type of oven that should be used. You might be surprised to learn that pizza is looked down on by some upper- and middle-class Italians.

I once stayed in Rome for a medical congress and was invited to a working dinner. We discussed the purchase of endoscopes and accessories—I was representing the university clinic at the time.

It wasn’t easy to eat, drink and stay mentally sharp during such a formal occasion. Before I went, I had been warned not to order pizza, as it’s not considered a “smart” or appropriate option in that setting.
