Hi, how can I help?

The reason I’m here is because I got scared last week when leaving my house; you must remember the weather was bitterly cold. I started walking to the tram station and suddenly felt a gripping pain, I was instantly out of breath. This whole event scared me half to death.

Were you noticeably sweating?

It’s difficult to say, although I did touch my hand to my forehead and it felt clammy. Doctor, I immediately knew what it was because my father had a heart attack and my symptoms were almost exactly like his. I can remember him asking me if there was anything to worry about, but I was not sure having just graduated as a junior doctor at the time. Do you think I had Angina Pectoris?

Yes, it very much looks so, the symptoms are very in keeping with this suggested diagnosis.

How shall we proceed now? I will have to have an ECG, maybe a treadmill, possibly a Coronary Arteriography?

Exactly.

How soon could we get it dealt with?

Let me have a look at the system and get in touch with the call centre, tell them your registration number so they can give us a response right away.

Will it be pushed through as urgent?

Yes, luckily so.

Well, it looks like all I have to do is wait. I hope I won’t have anything else come up before the examination.
