Ben Sheppard

Dear Doctor,

I tried to contact you last night, but I failed. Your assistant told me you had already left. Anyway, I just wanted to report about what happened in Tunisia last week.

We had been looking forward to this trip, as you know. We just wanted to re-charge our batteries, so we set off. I immediately had to rush to the toilet at the airport before boarding the flight. It was not far from having an accident. I just put it down to stress. But unfortunately, it continued in Tunisia. I wondered if too much sun had triggered an inflammatory reaction, but I was not able to tell.

Whatever my GP might have told me I just can’t help sunbathing, if I am by the sea. Anyway, I had a hard time of it. Abdominal cramps woke me up. Then I ran to the bathroom. The third time, I only saw blood and mucus. I was close to losing consciousness. What is it I can do?

My other half blamed Pantoprazole, as we read the small leaflet in the packet with instructions of use which said this may be one of the side-effects. So, I stopped that and have had bouts of acid reflux ever since.

The available doctor here can only speak French. To be honest, I learned French at school, but my knowledge has become rusty.

Would you be able to call me? It would be like a phone consultation, and I would pay for that of course.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Ben Sheppard
