Dear Doctor,
This is Joseph, one of the former staff nurses in your department. I’m really sorry to bother you, but I’d like your opinion on something. After all the years we worked together, you know I wouldn’t confide in any other doctor, believe me.
A few weeks ago, I began to suffer from a limp. This progressed into me shuffling. My wife, a retired nurse, suggested I might be suffering from complications of arteriosclerosis. and encouraged me to take long walks.
My GP confirmed the cause could be bad arthritis and suggested taking antibiotics, which he prescribed. I was very hesitant to take them, I must say.
Very soon after, I started getting dull headaches and I felt a bit nauseous. Things got worse when I lay down. I fear I might have thrombosis, or even a tumour in my brain.
I would really like to see you as soon as possible, as I’m scared stiff, to be honest.
Kind regards,
Joseph
