The story of my sepsis

I have always had eczema since I was a child. Anyhow as a young doctor one day I realised I had a small abscess on my trunk. It grew and grew then I had to see a surgeon. Back home it was informal, you just went there and received proper treatment without delay.

These abscesses just came one after the other and they realised the causative agent was a bacterium called Staphylococcus resistant to every antibiotic treatment. I was a diligent youth and of course I did on-calls even on the day of having had an operation. I find it weird today that my senior colleagues let me do so. I ended up developing thyroiditis and alopecia. This was how my young years ended.

I infected Andras as well as I was eager to go home earlier than advised. I was so negligent that I went to a ski tour to Austria while having a small abscess and then I had to be operated on there which cost my father-in-law an arm and a leg.

Once while having treatment on my perineum I noticed that two leads stood there watching without my permission. This was the last I wanted them to be there while having been exposed. I had swabs and suction which was awfully painful. I presume they didn’t want to believe how ill I was.
